Alex has a back ground in electronic and software engineering as well as experience working as a yacht rigger.
For the last ten years he has been a keen International Moth sailor. Often building and repairing parts of his own boat has helped him develop his composite repair skills.
Alex first met Sailrocket and the team while sailing out of Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy where he based his moth. It just so happened that Sailrocket was based from the same venue at this time.
Later in 2008 Alex joined the team down in Namibia for a record attempt with the first boat. Now he is on his fourth record session. During these record attempts he has been responsible for much of the instrumentation and rigging.
